The oil is obtained by cold pressing the znines (almonds of the argan tree) which is a fruit very rich in oil: 50 to 55%. Note that the argan tree grows only in Morocco. The harvest is carried out in the province of Essaouira. No fruit transited by goats is allowed. The Znines are broken by hand. The seeds are processed as needed and there is no storage of the fruit after crushing. This oil is cold extracted and mechanically filtered. It is neither refined nor deodorized.

Composition & description

It is an oil rich in Omega 9, Omega 6 and antioxidant (vitamin E); it is composed mainly of oleic acid (47%), linoleic (34%) and palmitic (13%). Pale yellow in colour, it penetrates the skin well and is non-comedogenic. Its smell is discreet and reminiscent of roasted hazelnut. It should not be confused with edible argan oil, which is (usually) roasted and therefore the scent is much more pronounced.

Properties

Anti-aging, antioxidant, skin protector (especially against the climate), regenerative, restorative.
It is used to prevent skin ageing in face and body care and to strengthen soft nails and soothe cracks and chapping. It has a nourishing and revitalizing action for the hair.
It is particularly suitable for dry, mature skin and for the care of damaged hands and nails.
