Composition & description

The oil is obtained by cold pressing the seeds contained in the baobab flower. It is a rare oil because a baobab tree produces on average only one liter of oil per year. It is an oil rich in essential fatty acids omega 9 (oleic acid: 40%) and omega 6 (linoleic acid about 30%). It contains about 30% saturated fatty acids (palmitic acid: 24%, stearic acid: 5%) and provides atypical fatty acids called cyclopropenic with anti-inflammatory properties as well as antioxidants that fight against skin aging (vitamin E, beta-carotene).

Properties

Emollient, anti-aging, skin repairing, healing, soothing

Baobab oil is recommended for anti-ageing and anti-wrinkle skin care or for sensitive and/or dry skin. Although it is very nourishing, it is an oil that is not very greasy and that penetrates the skin well, which allows it to take care of dry to very dry skin on a daily basis. Its comedogenic index is zero.
